Grade Definition
A Outstanding
B Very Good
C Average
D Barely Passing
F Fail
I Incomplete
This grading symbol indicates that a student did not complete a portion of the course requirements. The student must bring pertinent information to the instructor so that he/she may complete an "Incomplete" contract to allow the student one calendar year (or a shorter period) to complete any remaining requirements, after which time the "I" becomes a failing grade.
WU Unauthorized Withdrawal (formerly "U") This grading symbol indicates that a student enrolled in a course but did not officially withdraw from the course and failed to complete the course requirements. A "WU" grade is equivalent to an "F" for GPA and other calculations.

RD Report Delayed
This grading symbol indicates that a student received an "I" and the "Incomplete" contract was either not submitted with the course grade sheet or was not completed correctly by the department. This grading symbol is also used when a department does not submit a course grade sheet.
