CSULB Emergency Communications

In the event of any emergency or natural disaster, information concerning the status of California State University, Long Beach will be available to students, faculty, staff, parents and community members through the following:

Recorded information concerning the University's status will be available for employees, students, parents, and community members.

Personal Voice Mail Number

In addition to campus status, additional information pertinent to faculty and staff will be recorded on the Voice Mail system. To access the system, dial (562) 985-5999.

In addition to campus status, information concerning students living in the residence halls will be available at this number.

  • Isabel Patterson Child Development Center, (562) 985-5942

Pre-recorded information concerning the status of the Isabel Patterson Child Development Center will be available at (562) 985-5333. It the event of a campus closure during the center's hours of operation, parents will be notified directly. The center's main telephone number, (562) 985-5333, will remain open for parents' calls until children have been picked up.

Parents with children in the Child and Family Center operated by the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences should call the center directly for information.

KLON 88.1 FM

KLON-FM (88.1 FM) will announce campus status reports at the beginning of each hour. More frequent broadcasts will be added if necessary

Los Angeles-Area Broadcast Stations

CSULB will notify major radio stations and television stations concerning campus closure and other information. The information will be broadcast at the individual stations' discretion.
