Workshop on

Understanding Your CalPERS Retirement Benefits CalPERS trademarked logo

We are pleased to announce that Benefits Services will be conducting on-going workshops on “Understanding Your CalPERS Retirement Benefits,” for CSU, Long Beach CalPERS members. The workshops are 2 hours in length and are presented by Benefits Services. Subjects to be covered include the following:

  • Introduction – A brief overview of the CalPERS program and an introduction to information available on their website.
  • Understanding CalPERS – Participants will be guided through the navigation of the CalPERS website and assisted in accessing the CalPERS online Retirement Calculator; Service Credit Purchase information and the Annual Member Statement. Information also will be provided on benefits at retirement and the CalPERS retirement application process.

Who Should Attend

All CalPERS members are welcome to attend. This workshop is highly recommended for those employees who have at least five years of CalPERS service credit and are at least age 50.

The workshops will be scheduled regularly. The following dates are confirmed:

  • November 17, 2009, 9-11 am, CBA 240
  • November 18, 2009, 10-12, CBA 240
  • November 18, 2009, 2-4 pm, ITS Lab, BH 180D
  • December 8, 2009, 9-11 am, CBA 240
  • December 16, 2009, 9-11 am, ITS Lab, BH 180D

Additional workshop dates will be posted on Benefits Services’ website as they are confirmed.

Additional Details

The workshops will be presented in a computer lab setting for hands-on learning. Due to limited seating, reservations are required and are first-come first-served. Since the workshops will be held during normal working hours, please ensure that your appropriate administrator approves your attendance.
