Time Reporting Codes (TRC)
- ADO
- Additional Day Off Earned - If an employee is on a compressed work schedule and the holiday is observed on a non-workday, the employee shall be entitled to the number of holiday hours equal to his/her normal workday.
- ADOT
- Additional Day Off Taken (see above) [Note: ADO for R06 employees expire in 90 days; ADO for CSUEU employees expire in 180 days]
- CIT
- Citizen Time Off - (Leave to Vote) - An employee who would otherwise be unable to vote outside of his/her working hrs maybe granted up to 2 hours to vote in a direct primary, general or presidential election. Given the State's absentee ballot 'ease of use', this is rarely used at CSULB.
- CTO
- Compensatory Time Off - When an employee takes time off and 'charges' the hours to accrued CTO balances (for non-exempt employees only.)
- CTPR
- Compensatory Time Earned Premium - Used to record overtime worked in accordance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and bargaining agreement for non-exempt employees; results in an accrual compensation of 1.5 hours indicated (aka ' premium time.')
- CTST
- Compensatory Time Earned Straight - Use by R06 employees only. Used to record overtime worked in accordance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and bargaining agreement for non-exempt employees; results in an accrual compensation of 1.0 hours indicated (aka ' straight time.')
- DOCK
- Dock - Used to record an absence without pay either approved or unapproved (AWOL)
- EM
- Excess Minus – Used to record “deficit” hours during the pay period which is either 21(168 hours) or 22 (176 hours) days. Refer to the CSULB Payroll Calendar for number of days required per pay period.
- EP
- Excess Plus - Used to record “excess” hours worked during the pay period which is either 21(168 hours) or 22 (176 hours) days. Refer to the CSULB Payroll Calendar for number of days required per pay period.
- FL
- Funeral Leave - days paid leave for funeral of qualifying family member or significantly close relative as defined by bargaining agreements (time awarded varies by bargaining unit and circumstances.)
- HOL
- Hourly employee earned holiday paid time. [Refer to Hourly employee Holiday Pay chart]
- JD
- Jury Duty - consult bargaining agreements for additional details. Use JD to report subpoenaed witness.
- ML
- Military Leave
- MPA
- Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Leave (time awarded varies by bargaining unit and circumstances.)
- ODL
- Organ Donor Leave
- PDL
- Professional Development Leave
- PH
- Personal Holiday
- SL
- Sick Leave

Pay Differential Codes
- OTPR
- Overtime Premium - to record hours for a non-exempt employee for which the appropriate administrator has agreed to pay overtime earned at time and a half.
- OTST
- Overtime Straight Time - to record hours for a non-exempt employee for which the appropriate administrator has agreed to pay overtime earned as straight time.
- SHE08
- R08 (University Police) EVENING Shift Differential Pay[Hours worked between 6 p.m. and Midnight]
- SHGRV
- CSUEU or R06 Graveyard (NIGHT) Shift Differential Pay [Hours worked between Midnight and 6 a.m.]
- SHN08
- R08 (University Police) NIGHT Shift Differential Pay.[Hours worked between Midnight and 6 a.m.]
- SHSWG
- CSUEU or R06 Swing (EVENING) Shift Differential Pay [Hours worked between 6 p.m. and Midnight]
