Using Search Firms

The recruiting team is experienced in professional recruitment, and can assist you in locating qualified talent for your open position.  Please consult with the Recruitment Manager in advance of the search process when you think you might have a “hard to fill” position opening up.  We will give you an honest assessment of our capabilities in relation to your anticipated opening.

Occasionally, your search may require the services of a search firm.  Based on your needs and the level of the position, we can recommend a firm and help you negotiate the contract.  There are two types of search firms; retained and contingency.  With contingency firms, you will pay a fee only if their candidate is hired. While this may seem like an attractive option, unless you are a responsive client and work with the firm exclusively, you may not receive the recruiter’s best efforts. With retained search firms, you will pay an up-front fee whether or not the search is successful. In both cases, the fee is typically based on a percentage of the candidate’s first year salary. With retained search firms, you will also pay additional fees for expenses.

Again, prior to engaging search firm, we recommend that you discuss your options with the Recruitment Manager.
