Discipline Process

The discipline process is designed to provide a fair and consistent method of addressing issues of performance and conduct.  Staff Employee Relations is available to consult with management and union representatives to interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreements, Education Codes, and CSULB’s guidelines, policies, and procedures relating to the discipline process.

Employees are entitled to union representation during an investigatory interview, i.e., any time the supervisor questions the employee to obtain information which could be used as a basis for discipline or asks an employee to defend his/her conduct.  If you have questions regarding the discipline process, please contact your union representative.

Read Progressive Discipline for more details regarding the discipline process. Employees can also reference the contract article within their Collective Bargaining Agreement.
