Staff Employee Relations

Mission and Goals

We are responsible for the administration of the Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD), California State University Employees Union (CSUEU), Academic Professionals of California (APC), State Employees Trade Council (SETC), and Statewide University Police Association (SUPA) collective bargaining agreements and acts as a liaison for formal and informal interactions between non-academic employees (represented, as well as unrepresented), collective bargaining units and representatives, and supervisors and managers. Our goal is to create effective working relationships at CSULB.

Staff Employee Relations’ mission is to provide support and leadership in the management of CSULB’s staff employee relations program.

We do this by:

  1. processing formal and informal grievances and complaints
  2. monitoring and processing unfair labor practice charges
  3. monitoring and processing notices to labor unions on the contracting out of work
  4. preparing and processing notices of disciplinary action
  5. providing assistance and counseling to administrators regarding interpretation and administration of the collective bargaining agreements and related University policies.
