Departmental Copier Program

The CSULB Departmental Copier Program (DCP) provides self-serve copy machines, copier service and supplies to university staff and faculty. Student copying is provided by the Forty-Niner Shops, Inc., and full-serve copying and printing services are available for staff and faculty from the University Print Shop.

History

The CSULB Departmental Copier Program (DCP) was established in fiscal year 1977-1978 by a legislative mandate requiring state agencies to provide centrally managed copier services to reduce the cost of copier operations. As a result, with funds provided by the Department of General Services, CSULB acquired 40 copy machines and established the Departmental Copier Program under the direction of the Procurement and Support Services Officer. This program was approved by the Office Services Division of the Department of General Services. The Program has been and continues to be completely self-supporting by operating only on revenue generated from the cost per copy charge.

Mission

The mission of DCP is to provide effective and efficient copy equipment to meet the needs of the instructional and administrative units within the entire University community. The Program is to insure that the equipment adequately meets the needs of the users in terms of size, types of features, copy quality and location; and shall exercise sound fiscal management of resources to insure timely placement and replacement of equipment to provide the highest standards of service at a fair and competitive price.
