The University has updated its mail billing system to conform with CMS. All postal items intended for mailing off-campus through the CSULB Mail Services must now have a Code 39 barcode in an approved area on the piece. (New Code 39 barcodes were mandatory as of January 2005). This barcode contains account, department and billing information. The barcodes can either be printed directly on your mailing piece for an additional charge, or supplied to you in the form of peel and stick labels. The labels come 96 to a sheet, and are priced at 90¢ per sheet.

Labels may be used during any year – the mail services will automatically bill to the current fiscal year.
In addition, please remember that new U.S. Postal Service regulations require a 2 3/4" clearance from the bottom edge of any mail piece. If you have any questions about any of this, please don't hesitate to contact us at 5-4501.
