Note: The steps below are the same regardless of whether you are giving access to a calendar or to a mailbox/folder.
Open the calendar or mailbox/folder you wish to share.
Select the Options button in the upper right corner of the window. Note that the Options button is different than the Calendar Options button.
![]()
Locate the Identifier field

Each person who needs access to your calendar will need to be listed in an Identifier field and given the appropriate access.
Determine the Identifier for the person with whom you want to share this calendar or mailbox/folder. It will be a tilde (~) followed by the first part of their email address (i.e., the part before @csulb.edu).
For example, for the email address jdoe@csulb.edu the identifier would be ~jdoe.
Keep in mind that this feature will only be available to other individuals on campus webmail.
Choose any combination of these access controls as appropriate per user.
Lookup – the user will be able to view the selected mailbox/folder
Select – the user will be able to open and read the messages in the mailbox/folder
Seen – the user will be able to mark the message as being read
Flag – the user will be able to set message flags
Insert – the user will be able to append messages to this mailbox and to copy messages from other mailboxes into this one
Post – not applicable
Create – the user will be able to create new submailboxes/subfolders within this mailbox/folder
Delete – the user will be able to mark messages for deletion and empty the trash
Admin – the user will be able to change the access controls for the mailbox folder
If you want everyone to have access to viewing your calendar, type "anyone" in the Identifier field and give them lookup access by checking the checkbox in the "Lookup" column as shown below:
