In an effort to increase data security and to protect the privacy rights of the campus community, data security services and tools are being provided for use on university-owned desktops and laptops. Please refer to the CSULB website for more details on privacy rights. The “PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) Endpoint Encryption” software solutions allow users to encrypt sensitive personal information on their laptops or workstations.
Data security services and tools are currently available to all campus community members. In some cases, managers may have already identified individuals that are required to implement this new service because of their access to sensitive information.
When you should use Data Security Services:
Change Your PGP Passphrase (Windows)
Change Your PGP Passphrase (Mac)
PGP Pre-Enrollment, Enrollment and Encryption Procedures
More information about information security, including whom to contact, is available at the campus Information Security website.
