CSULB uses a variety of mechanisms to protect the campus and its employees from e-mail spam and viruses. Campus e-mail is scanned for potential threats using IronPort security appliances. Every incoming and outgoing message is checked for spam or viruses.
Messages which are positively identified as containing viruses or spam are discarded to prevent campus infections or receipt of unwanted e-mail. Any message which may contain spam with less than complete certainty is tagged with "[SUSPECT SPAM]" on the subject line and delivered to its recipient.
Using mail rules or filters in your E-mail application, you may move “SUSPECT SPAM” messages to separate folders at your discretion.
You can get assistance with several E-mail applications by contacting Technology Help Desk at ext. 4959 or ITS Desktop Support at ext. 8344.
