Virtual Private Network (VPN) access is intended for those that have broadband access at home and need a way to access restricted resources on the campus network. What are restricted resources? Restricted resources are those that only allow a connection while on campus or while dialed in using the campus' modem connection.
In order to take advantage of this VPN connection, you must have a CSULB Internet Account. For questions relating to creating an Internet Account or changing your password please visit the Technology Help Desk
Once you have your Internet Account and password, download the software. There are two main components; the installation software and profile "connection entry". Don't forget to download both!
It is recommended that you print a copy of the "Windows Installation Instructions" for easy reference during installation. This document was written for Windows 2000/XP users only and was updated January 22, 2005.
STEP ONE: Download Windows Installation Instructions
STEP TWO: Download REQUIRED "Connection Entry" Profile:
Download one of the two profiles by right clicking on one of the two links
below, and selecting save target as. Choose a location for the file that will
be easy for you to remember during the software installation.
STEP THREE: Download VPN software by clicking on one of the three links below.
This is a Cisco product that is no longer supported or available from Cisco. ITS offers only configuration assistance to run it on 32-bit Operating Systems only (NO 64-bit), and can offer no guarantee that it will work in all situations and will not adversely affect the client computer. ITS is seeking a new solution, as budget allows.
