- Introduction
-
- If setting up your voice mailbox to use for the first time, call the campus operator (extension “0”) and request a refresh. It’s a good idea to check with your roommate first as he or she may have already requested it.
- If your mailbox was recently installed or "refreshed", you may hear a tutorial and "novice" prompts
- You may also hear "novice" prompts when you return to logging onto your voice mailbox after a long period of inactivity
- Novice prompts will cease after login activity has been reestablished
- Most system prompts can be interrupted at any time
- If calling another user, and your call diverts to their voice mailbox, it is easy to skip listening to the greeting by pressing * and recording your message after the signal
- It is easy to skip the initial prompts after logging onto your mailbox by pressing the number of the feature you wish to access immediately after login (for example, press “5” to play your first message)
- Retrieve messages often!
- Messages waiting lights (on digital phones) will be visible
- Stuttered dial tone will be audible when a message is waiting, but it is still usable dial tone!
