Campus telephone directory

Online Lookup

The telephone directory for California State University, Long Beach is published annually and distributed to employees at no expense to the department or the user receiving the directory. The process of updating and publishing the campus telephone directory begins in June of each year when the first of three updates is sent to all departments. With the third and final update report, an order form is also distributed so that Telecommunications will be prepared to distribute the appropriate quantity of directories needed in each department. The directory is normally delivered during multiple weeks in January. It contains three general sections of information, which include (1) the reference section, (2) the departmental section, and the (3) alphabetical section. The campus telephone directory is administered and supported by the Telecommunications department.

Online extension lookup

Tired of using outdated paper records? Look up an extension number online! Search by the first few letters of the last name, first name, email address, or by the extension number. You can also conduct a look up on an entire department to browse through a roster of all the currently listed employees.

Online directory information

For your convenience all directory information, with the exception of a couple of reference sections, are available online under "Directory Table of Contents" on the main Telecom web page (www.csulb.edu/telecom) or click the link above. Blackberry units

Wireless communication advances dramatically with each passing year. Telecommunications now supports Blackberry service to Lotus Notes users, which offers email, personal address book, and many other features. A Blackberry can also act as a mobile or cellular phone, which helps decrease the number of devices you have to carry around. It will automatically synchronize with your Lotus Notes account, and it will give you advantages in communicating with others more expediently. Whatever amount the carrier charges the University for monthly service and phone calls, the amount is billed to the user without being altered. Blackberries are associated with your campus extension for billing, and can be requested through a work order just like a request for a campus telephone. Telecommunications completes requests for Blackberries when they are intended for business use.

Wireless/cellular telephones

For several years, Telecommunications has supported mobile telephone service, and supports carriers such as Cingular Wireless and Verizon Wireless. Whatever amount the carrier charges the University for monthly service and phone calls, the amount is billed to the user without being altered. Mobile telephones are associated with your campus extension for billing, and can be requested through a work order just like any other campus telephone. Telecommunications completes requests for mobile telephones when they are intended for business use.

Calling cards

Campus telephone users may request a calling card for conducting University business. Any charges incurred by the calling card's use are applied to the user's monthly Telecommunications bill. Whatever amount the carrier, such as Qwest or AT&T, charges the University for the calling card's use, the amount is billed to the user without being altered, nor is there any service charge for use of the card. Requests for a calling card must be submitted on a Network & Telecommunications work order with the appropriate fiscal authorization (signature of the appropriate ASM).
