Voicemail Instructions
Note: Saved messages will remain in your mailbox for 30 days from the first day saved, then they will automatically be erased from your mailbox. New messages that have not been listened to will remain in your mailbox for 30 days, then they will automatically be erased from your mailbox.

- Voice mail is a convenient tool, and in today’s technology and information driven work-place, it has come to be an expected commodity and asset by callers and call-recipients alike.
- If used properly and knowledgeably, voice mail can enhance interpersonal communication and productivity
- A voice mailbox number is normally the same as a user's 5-digit extension number
- If your mailbox was recently installed or "refreshed", you may hear a tutorial and "novice" prompts
- You may also hear "novice" prompts when you return to logging onto your voice mailbox after a long period of inactivity
- Novice prompts will cease after login activity has been reestablished
- Most system prompts can be interrupted at any time
- If calling another user, and your call diverts to their voice mailbox, it is easy to skip listening to the greeting by pressing * and recording your message after the signal
- It is easy to skip the initial prompts after logging onto your mailbox by pressing the number of the feature you wish to access immediately after login
- Retrieve messages often!
- Messages waiting lights (on digital phones) will be visible
- Stutter dial tone will be audible when a message is waiting
- Check for messages daily even if these signals are not present
- Return calls at your earliest convenience
- Leaving a Message

When calling and leaving a message in a mailbox, you may:
- Key in any 5-digit extension at any time before or after leaving a message
- Press "*" to bypass greeting and get tone to leave message
- Quick Message

- Dial "55999"
- Press "*"
- Enter mailbox number of recipient
- Record message
- Hang up
- Accessing From Your Analog or Digital Phone

- Dial "55999" OR press Voice Mail button when lit (digital phones only)
- Listen to all voice prompts
- Press "*" for quick messaging or "##" to access Voice Mail
- Enter security code (Security code must be 5 - 10 digits)
- Accessing From Other Phones

- On campus dial "55999", off-campus dial 9855999
- Listen to all voice prompts
- Press "*" for quick messaging or "##" to access Voice Mail
- Enter security code (Security code must be 5 - 10 digits)
