The Customer Service Center is the hub of Facilities Management and can be reached by calling 5-HELP (54357). All requests for routine, non-routine, and emergency services are coordinated through this office. The Customer Service Center staff also processes all service order requests from inception to completion including chargeback invoices and transfers of funds.
Key Issue provides door and room keys for 95% of the buildings on campus. There is an inventory of 100,000 keys corresponding to approximately 40,000 locks on campus.
A significant percentage of the required maintenance and repair materials are located and managed within a secured warehouse in the Facilities Management corporation yard.
Inventory levels are tracked by the automated IFIS inventory module. Minimum and maximum levels are established by analysis of historical usage data, warehouse space utilization and availability, return on investment, and available funding.
Random physical inventory checks are conducted throughout the fiscal year and an annual physical inventory count is conducted each year by an outside agency and is forwarded to the University Financial Reporting and Planning administrator for review and evaluation.
