Toner & Ink Jet Cartridges

Toner and ink jet cartridges should be recycled by placing used cartridges inside the replacement cartridge box and sent through inter campus mail to Receiving. Please do not put toner cartridges in with mixed paper or cardboard.

Where Does It Go?

Toner cartridges are sold to a vendor who ships them to a local facility that remanufactures the units into high quality toner cartridges. Many departments on campus are now purchasing these remanufactured cartridges at substantial cost savings compared to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) cartridges. Additional information on buying remanufactured toner cartridges is available from Purchasing and Financial Services.

Did You Know?

More than 300 million toner cartridges are used and discarded in the United States every year. With three quarts of oil used in the production of one new toner cartridge, using remanufactured cartridges can save over 225 million gallons of oil annually.
