The West County Connectors team is preparing for a big project milestone this summer: the completion of the new southbound I-405 connector to the eastbound SR-22 freeway. There are a couple of construction items that must be completed as crews wrap up work, including a weekend traffic switch and weekend bridge demolition. Details and tentative dates are below:

• 10 p.m., Friday, June 14 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 17, crews will restripe the mainline freeway with the new southbound I-405 / eastbound SR-22 connector. This will require closing the southbound I-405/eastbound SR-22 connector as well as some on- and off-ramps for approximately 55-hours. As of 5 a.m. on Monday, June 17, commuters will be able to drive on the newly constructed bridge connector.
• 9 p.m., Saturday June 29 through 5 p.m., Sunday June 30, crews will demolish the existing southbound I-405 / eastbound SR-22 connector that commuters currently travel on. In order to demolish the old structure, portions of the eastbound SR-22, northbound I-405 and southbound I-405 freeways will be closed for approximately 20 hours, the weekend of June 29-30.
