Forms of Payment

At both Brotman Hall and the Parking Services’ Customer Relations Center, payment forms taken are Cash, ATM / Debit, and Check.
Why can’t we use VISA / MasterCard payments at the Parking Services’ Customer Relations Center for employee permits?
Effective July 1, 2007, rates for employee permits varied based on bargaining units. It was for this reason that VISA / MasterCard purchases were no longer offered. VISA / MasterCard payments are for student permits only.

BH Staff / Faculty Line

Is there a staff / faculty that’s different from the student permits line?
At Brotman Hall Cashiers, there is a Staff / Faculty line open to assist staff/faculty (Window 1). At the Parking Services’ Customer Relations Center, we’re limited to 1 cashier window that will take both student and employee permits.

Payroll Deduction

What is payroll deduction?
Payroll deduction gives employees the option of paying for their parking through automatic deductions taken from their paychecks.
Where do I sign up for this program?
You must come into the Parking Services’ Customer Relations Center in Lot 15 during office hours to sign up.
How do I qualify for this program?
To qualify, your employment contract would need to be more than 10 months from the time you sign up in the Parking Services’ Customer Relations Center. If you’re a new employee, it takes about 2 to 4 weeks for us to verify your employment.
If verification takes up to 2 to 4 weeks, do I have to purchase parking in the meantime?
No, once you sign up, a complimentary parking permit up to 2 weeks is given to you during the verification process.
What types of permits are offered to payroll deduction employees?
There are two types: (1) The Academic Year employee permit. This is the same permit that can be purchased over-the-counter at the Brotman Hall Cashiers and the Parking Services’ Customer Relations Center. (2) The Full Year employee permit. This permit is currently good for 3 years, expiring on May 30, 2011
Can I switch my permit from Academic Year to Full Year to take advantage of the 3-year permit?
Yes, come into the office to switch your status from Academic Year to Full Year and vice versa.
If I was on leave and my payroll deductions were stopped, can I start it up again when I come back?
Assuming that the qualifications are met, payroll deduction can be started up again.
How do I stop my payroll deduction?
You can come into the Parking Services’ Customer Relations Center to fill out a “Stop Form”.
If I’m leaving the university, should I fill out a “Stop Form” if I’m not receiving a check?
Yes. As part of the Clearance Form for each employee leaving the university, the employee parking permit has to be turned in. If you’re on payroll deduction, you will be asked to fill out a “Stop Form”. Failure to stop payroll deduction when leaving to another State of Calfornia agency will result in continued deductions.
What if I was wrongly deducted, is there a refund?
Yes. Please contact our office at (562) 985-4146 to report any deductions that are taken out of your checks. These can be refunded back to you through your paycheck.
