Permit

What types of permits are available for employees?
A Fall 2008 semester permit, an Academic Year permit, and a motorcycle permit.
What is an Academic Year student permit?
This is a new permit that covers the Academic Year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). These permits are valid in General Lots only. It’s a good way to save you a trip from possibly purchasing your permit in the Winter Session and Spring Semester.

Forms of Payment & Pro-Rated Schedule

What forms of payments do you take for purchases?
For permits purchased at Brotman Hall Cashiers, payments are only accepted in the form of ATM / Debit, Cash, and Check. If you plan to purchase at the Parking Services’ Customer Relations Center in Lot 15, payments are accepted in the form of Cash, ATM / Debit, Check, and Credit Card (Visa & MasterCard ONLY).
If I decide to purchase my permit later in the semester, are the rates pro-rated?
The pro-rated schedule fee for the Fall/Spring Semester automobile permits are as follows on each start date:
  • First Day of Sales – 100 %
  • First Day of Week 5 – 75%
  • First Day of Week 9 – 50%
  • First Day of Week 13 – 25%

Motorcycle permits only pro-rate to 50% on the first day of Week 9.

For the Summer and Winter Session, there are no pro-rated fees. The 12-week Full Summer Session can also be purchased by Single-Session 6-week permits and the Winter Session is only 3 weeks in length.

Motorcycle permits only pro-rate to 50%% starting on the second day of school.

For the Summer Session, here are the pro-rated refund fees:

Full Summer Session

  • First Day of Sales – 100 %
  • First 25 Calendar Days – 66%
  • Second 25 Calendar Days – 33%
  • After 50 Calendar Days – 0%

Single Summer Session

  • First Day of Sales – 100 %
  • First 10 Calendar Days – 66%
  • Second 10 Calendar Days – 33%
  • After 20 Calendar Days – 0%

Full Winter Session

  • First Day of Sales – 100 %
  • First 5 Calendar Days – 66%
  • Second 5 Calendar Days – 33%
  • After 10 Calendar Days – 0%
How long does the refund process take?
The process usually takes 2 to 6 weeks.

Carpool Permit

How do I qualify for the Carpool Permit?
If you’ve already purchased a parking permit and are interested in a Carpool permit, come in with your carpool partner(s) and sign up. Each person signing up must have a valid CSULB ID. Only 1 carpool permit is issued to a group.
Is there an extra cost to the carpool permit?
There is no extra fee if there is a purchase of a semester / academic year permit within a carpooling group.
Where can I park with the carpool permit?
Currently, there are designated carpool spaces in Lots 11C & 17, which are available for use until 4pm.
