Night Escort Program - Community Service Officers (CSO)

image of the white, Ford, police escort vanThe Night Escort Program is completed by Community Service Officers (CSOs). They are dressed in black shirts with University Police and Community Service Officer lettering with photographic identification name badges and a hand-held radio which directly contacts the police dispatcher.

The CSOs answer calls for escorts, unlocks of buildings and securing of buildings, and they provide additional crime prevention patrols to the parking lots, buildings, and Residential Life facilities.

You may request as escort Sunday through Thursday from 6:00PM to 11:00PM by using a public pay phone's University Police button or by dialing (562) 985-4101 from a pay phone or cell phone (5-4101 from on-campus phones). If necessary you may request an escort using a Blue Emergency phone.

If you require an escort at other times, call (562) 985-4101 and a police officer will assist you.

Please be advised that there may be a short delay before a CSO or an officer arrives at your location. Our University community is very safe, but it is wise to wait and use the escort service.
