University Police personnel present numerous seminars throughout each semester to faculty, staff and students on the following topics; sexual assault, sexual harassment, date rape drugs, personal and property theft prevention. Each seminar offers prevention tips, current laws and statistical data regarding these subject matters while incorporating the University policies. In addition the department offers a women's self defense class throughout the year. Those interested may contact 562-985-4101 for dates and times.
University Police has a night escort service, called the Community Service Officer Program. By simply calling on the telephone or using one of the Code Blue telephones you may request an escort to the Residential Halls, Library, study lab or the parking lots. Hours of the escort service are Monday through Thursday 5:00p.m. to 11:45p.m., and the hours vary Friday, Saturday and Sundays. If you require an escort after these hours, contact our department and an officer will escort you to your vehicle or your residential hall.
