Campus Preparedness Framework

Campus departments develop business continuity plans to enable the rapid restarting of their critical functions following a disaster.

The CSU Long Beach Emergency Operations Plan details how the university will manage and coordinate resources and personnel responding to foreseeable emergency situations that could threaten the campus community.

Each campus community member and their families should be prepared to survive for 72 hours without disaster or emergency response assistance and have a minimum of 72 hours of emergency water and food.

During an adverse event, individual preparedness can reduce the number of disaster victims and the burden placed on emergency response providers. Individuals who are personally prepared will more likely be positioned to assist their families, help others in the community, and support campus operations.

At a minimum, individual preparedness should include 72-hour home, car, and office kits plus First Aid training.
