Welcome to California State University, Long Beach!

CSULB provides approximately 14,000 parking spaces for the student, employee, and visitor population of nearly 40,000 people. Parking spaces are a limited resource, so parking policies are enforced 24 hours a day, each and every day of the year. Parking facility construction, operation, and maintenance in the California State University system is self-supporting; no general fund tax dollars are spent building, operating, staffing, and maintaining parking facilities. 100 percent of the Parking and Transportation Services operating budget comes from permit sales, event parking and citation revenue. PTS strives to ensure all participants pay an equitable share of the fees charged for parking services. The parking policies developed and implemented by PTS are designed to ensure a service-oriented, efficient, and equitable operation with the interests of the entire campus in mind.

Parking Enforcement

Parking is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. This means that you will need a valid parking permit at all times if parking on campus. Daily permits are available at our pay stations located in parking lots and structures throughout the campus. Parking by the hour can be purchased at our Short-Term pay stations in Lots 1, 8A, 11C, 16, 17 and the South Campus Turnaround.

Parking Tips

  • Allow enough time before your class or meeting starts (at least 30 minutes is recommended).
  • Save time by parking in our North lots (Lots 13, 14, and Parking Structure 3). These are our largest lots and generally have spaces available throughout the day.
  • Parking spaces closer to the campus core tend to fill up before 9 a.m.
  • When parking on campus, some form of parking must be purchased (annual, semester, daily, hourly).
  • Vehicles displaying a Disabled Person Parking Placard/Plate must also purchase a form of CSULB parking.
  • Be sure to lock and secure your vehicle and ensure valuable items are not left in plain sight.
